This space is for our friends living in Palm Beach, Broward, Dade and neighboring counties in Florida. (Anyone in Florida can use the Florida Power and Light calculator at the link above though) The electric cost is almost the same for my friends in SW, Central and North Florida, but please keep in mind they are still using gas prices from 5 years ago and they are 3X more now. (So your savings over gas is so much more these days) I also like their calculator for estimating the cost to run your water pump. You really only need it to circulate the water in the pool one complete time each day. So GPM (Gallons Per Minute) X 60 minutes in an hour X hours of run time a day should equal the gallons in the pool. When it is cold out you might have to run the water pump extra when you are heating. You also can run the pool longer if you have a lot of trees that drop debris in the pool.

When it comes to choosing the right heater we realize that it can be very confusing. There are many heaters on the market. Some of them have different labels that add more confusion. Some local pool supply stores sell only limited brands and will try to sell  you one of the two brands that they carry. Some even have their own "name brand" heat pump that has never been rated by any independent agency.
A heat pump is an investment that should last 12 to 16 years. It is important that you are well informed and can make an educated choice.
We sell heat pumps every day. This is all we've done since 1999 on the Internet.  We know who offers the best warranty, the best customer service and the best quality products. Most importantly, we have had experience with almost every North American heat pump manufactured over the last twenty five years.

It is our goal to make your heat pump purchase a satisfying friendly experience, from the moment you order to the day that your heat pump arrives at your home on a lift gate truck that lowers the unit to the ground. Then you get it installed. 95% of the installation is finding a licensed electrician to wire the heat pump. Then all you need to do is glue the two pipes. That is the easy part.

Although Pool Heat Pumps .Com doesn't install heat pumps or do service, we have the experience from years in the fields and won't let you make a mistake buying one from us. If you need an electrician, you should get a free quote from 2 or 3 of them, and then you can make the best choice. Usually the quotes are between $150.00 to $600.00 depending on the complexity of the job. Some of the manufacturers also have some people that they like to use too. We can ask them if you can't find anyone that you like.

Please remember we will try to match other distributor prices and still give you 100% of our dedicated customer service. We have been in the swimming pool heating business for 25 years and hope to be here for at least another 20 years.

If you get a quote for a heat pump from a local contractor, for one price including installation, make sure that it includes the electrical wiring. That can sometimes be 95% of the total cost of the installation. If you have an electrician that you like, many times you can save money if you let them do the electrical part of the installation. About 1/3 of our customers glue the two water pipes to the heater themselves. It's not rocket science. Regardless of where you buy the heater: whether it's from a store, a contractor or us. The warranty will be handled by the manufacturer.

We are always here for you if you have a questions or any issues with a manufacturer.

We know your area, we know your weather. We think that we are the most qualified to help you with your pool heater decision in Florida.
