Marine-Grade High Nickel Heat Exchanger

Rheem Professional Series heat pumps are manufactured with a Marine-Grade High Nickel Alloy (#722) heat exchanger for added protection against aggressive water chemistry, which has been known to attack copper heat exchangers and cause premature failure. The Rheem #722 nickel alloy offers superior tolerance to bad water chemistry, and increased erosion protection, thanks to its harder surface. This is the same material used by the Navy to pump raw seawater in its bilge system, and is also the same material used in the condensing coils of nuclear power plants...Now that's a robust metal! The Copeland Scroll compressor in your Rheem heat pump is the same workhorse that is used in air conditioners all around the world! The simple design of the Copeland Scroll compressor builds in reliability and allows it to operate at lower sound and vibration levels than reciprocating compressors. In fact, tests have shown that Scroll compressors are up to three times quieter than reciprocating models. Durability is based on a very robust design and contains only a few moving parts. Because the Copeland Scroll compressor starts unloaded, strain on the motor is considerably reduced.
